CTU Military Students
Proud To Be A Military-Centric Online College
Colorado Technical University values members of the U.S. Armed Forces, and we understand that for many in the military, online colleges offer much-needed flexibility. Our convenient online degree programs give military members the freedom to attend classes when it's easier for them—a freedom that could mean the difference between having the time to pursue their academic goals or not—but that's not all we offer. As a military-centric online college, we have policies in place to help you balance your military and academic obligations.
Department of Defense Memorandum of Understanding
Colorado Technical University ("CTU") is pleased to hold a Memorandum of Understanding ("MOU") with the Department of Defense ("DOD"), which allows our institutions the opportunity to further our commitment to excellence in educating Service member students.
By following the guidance of the DOD MOU, we are able to ensure that all Service members have access to what they need to make informed decisions about where to attend school and about how their Tuition Assistance ("TA") benefits will interact with their chosen educational programs.
CTU has compiled additional information about how we uphold the agreement represented by the DOD MOU; please contact the offices associated with each area for more information.

Are You Ready?
When you are ready to apply for admission, follow the steps outlined below.
Visit your Base Education Center and talk to an Education Service Officer (ESO) about why you want to attend college and which school you would like to attend. Your ESO can give you the essential paperwork regarding your tuition assistance (TA) and advise you on your eligibility for any military education benefits.
Apply online by clicking below. Follow the prompts and fill in the requested information.
Once we’ve received all required information and documents, we will review your application.
After your application for admission is complete, fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to determine your eligibility for other federal aid resources.
- Apply here to create a FSA ID, which allows you to sign and submit your FAFSA online.
- When filling out the FAFSA, you will need to input the Colorado Technical University School Code: 010148. This code will route the completed information to CTU.
- Log on to the FAFSA website and complete the application.
Contact a CTU Military Education Benefits Specialist (MEBS) after you've completed your FAFSA. Your Military Education Benefits Specialist, in conjunction with your ESO, will work with you to determine all military benefits for which you may be eligible.
CTU’s Registrar Evaluation Services Department will review and evaluate your military training — courses, MOS and traditional education for potential credit.*
PLEASE NOTE:
The steps outlined above are general guidelines. Requirements may vary for specific student applications.
* Transfer credit is evaluated on an individual basis. Not all credits are eligible to transfer. See the University Catalog for transfer credit policies.
